President Trump has just made the historic decision to nominate Judge Amy Coney Barrett, a Catholic mother of 7, to the Supreme Court of the United States.
During her remarks in the Rose Garden, Judge Barrett said that she would rule in the same way Catholic Justice Antonin Scalia (whom Barrett clerked for in the late 1990s) did – with fairness and impartiality to the text of the constitution.
The left has predictably lost their minds.
On twitter last week, deranged “anti-racist” activist Ibram X. Kendi lambasted Judge Barrett for her decision to adopt two children from Haiti. Kendi referred to Barrett and her husband as “white colonizers.”
“They ‘civilized’ these ‘savage’ children in the ‘superior’ ways of White people,” he tweeted.
How insane does a person have to be to claim that adopting children and giving them a loving home and a safe upbringing is an act of “colonialism?” And these people want to run out country? They’d destroy it literally overnight – and, in many ways, they are, especially with their noxious “1619 Project.”
Kendi’s remarks reveal how desperate the left really is. They have no real way to oppose Judge Barrett’s nomination. She’s a devout, church-going Catholic who loves her family and hasn’t a speck of dirt on her record. Conservative author Dinesh D’Souza referred to her as “Mother Teresa” in a tweet warning the left what they are up against. In other words, she’s the real deal.
If the Democrats decide to attack Judge Barrett for her Catholic faith, they’ll risk alienating the Catholic vote, which has played a decisive factor in deciding every president for the last fifty years.
Bigoted California Senator Dianne Feinstein went after Barrett with her nasty “the dogma lives loudly within you” remarks in 2017.
Her comments set off a tidal wave of conservative, grassroots Catholic activism that has lasted until the present day, and, in all likelihood, won’t ever go away.
It would be the height of stupidity for Democrats to continue Feinstein’s anti-Catholic antics. Then again, the Democrats aren’t that bright to begin with. Maybe they’ll double down on their secularist ideology in a disgusting attempt to appeal to their increasingly anti-God, anti-life base.
Bravo for President Trump picking the right woman for the right job. Catholics should reward him this election season by seeing to it that he’s re-elected.
